Megan Happ

My work aims to bridge the gap between theatrics and art installation. I am inspired by the realm of theatre and worldbuilding. As I move forward I try to question how that inspiration and love are represented in a gallery format. One of the main inspirations I have is puppetry. Through puppetry I find a childlike whimsy and a tie into worldbuilding. 

I use textiles in all my work as the softness and materiality it implies speaks to me. The history of textiles and puppetry overlap in several respects and knowing one helps understand the other. The movement of fibers and fabrics create a theatrical element that guides all my work.
