This assumed pattern repeat showcases printed cats with dye and hand drawn vines and leaves with poka dots, with the background of variated greens. The task was to create an assumed repeat inspired by a peice of art. The piece of art I chose was “The Green Dress” by John White Alexander. I was inspired how the black cat stood out against the silky green dress. I reframed the piece and called it “The Black Cat'“. The intention behind this fabric was to display it as a wall hanging or create a long womens skirt.
